Learning at Mente: “Letter-Writing Workshop: Supporting Clients with Gender Affirming Care”

Some of the values we hold most dearly at Mente are Learning and Advocacy. Given the unrelenting oppression of our LGBTQI+ community, in particular the youth in Texas and Florida currently, we decided it was time to brush up on our letter writing skills to support our trans and gender non-binary community here at home.

Our colleague and dear friend, Mackenzie Dunham, LICSW assisted us with their detailed and precise expertise on how to best advocate for people seeking gender affirming care in the medical system. We are so grateful to Mackenzie and all of the wonderful clinicians at their practice Wild Heart Society. We encourage you to learn more by also listening to their podcast Camp Wild Heart, especially if you are an adult caring for a trans and gender non-binary youth.
